After 6 played minutes, Karacasu's Artun Özbir shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mehmet Oğuz Özerk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Karacasu reached it. Dimcho Devenski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kubilay Tercan in the 9th minute. After 15 minutes, Erland Haaland made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. ZONGULDAK's Mehmet Oğuz Özerk tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th minute, Kubilay Tercan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 22 minutes of play, Karacasu's Erland Haaland made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mehmet Oğuz Özerk was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Mazhar Mutluay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mehmet Oğuz Özerk. ZONGULDAK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mazhar Mutluay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ZONGULDAK! In the 35th minute, Erland Haaland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karacasu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 38 minutes into the game, Hikmet Uluçam threw the ball into play from the sideline. ZONGULDAK's Ogün Onsoy quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 40 minutes into the game, Francesco Taglieri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Mehmet Oğuz Özerk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 47th minute Erland Haaland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Oğuz Özerk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Eduardo Cabral to make the kick off. In the 65th match minute, ZONGULDAK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hakkı Umar to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Karacasu's Luís Eduardo Cabral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mehmet Oğuz Özerk. That made the score 0-11 after 67 minutes of play. ZONGULDAK's Mehmet Oğuz Özerk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save ZONGULDAK from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute, Mehmet Hakkı Dengizer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mehmet Oğuz Özerk was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mazhar Mutluay showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 72 minute of play. Mehmet Oğuz Özerk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazhar Mutluay in the 75th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Erland Haaland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mehmet Oğuz Özerk. The supporters of ZONGULDAK booed when Karacasu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Erdem Reyyan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Ahmet Bülent Sezmen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ZONGULDAK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Bülent Sezmen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Karacasu getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Duman Mutlugün hit a great ball. Mehmet Oğuz Özerk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Taglieri in the 96th minute of play. Karacasu played a much better game than ZONGULDAK and deserved their victory. The ZONGULDAK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
