Elnino sK's Refik Akatay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Elnino sK from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Tonon in the 7th minute of play forced Erzurumspor's goalkeeper Şaban Kıncal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Suavi Cespan hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The supporters of Erzurumspor booed when Elnino sK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Ali Duha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute of the match Özer Kantara shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Refik Akatay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aydın Umman's late challenge caught a Elnino sK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aydın Umman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Aydın Umman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Şaban Kıncal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alim Topal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Şaban Kıncal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Peli in the 42nd minute of the match. Elnino sK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ahmet Ali Duha in the 43rd minute. After the first half Elnino sK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 56th minute of the match Mümtaz Zeynelabidin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Refik Akatay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Erzurumspor's goalkeeper Şaban Kıncal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alim Topal.
