After the first half Kurucaşilespor were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Stig-Ove McNamaras short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Doğaner Keşif to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in kocaelispor's zone, Stig-Ove McNamara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doğaner Keşif came out of the goal and Stig-Ove McNamara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Yavuz Selim Başesgioğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Korkutalp Uğurtay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erkut Zor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Selman Erincer in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yavuz Selim Başesgioğlu during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Doğaner Keşif made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stig-Ove McNamara in the 96th minute. Yavuz Selim Başesgioğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Erkut Zor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
