Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ufuk Hürsev got the match started through his kick off. Zülfü Gürgen hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Yaşar Kiray came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by San Gwann Birlik's Wasyl Cwynar. But to his dismay, Wasyl Cwynar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Zülfü Gürgen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yaşar Kiray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, San Gwann Birlik's Terkild Knoop got a free kick in the 19th minute. Samim Esentürk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ufuk Hürsev, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Wasyl Cwynar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Zülfü Gürgen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yaşar Kiray was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Ufuk Hürsev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wasyl Cwynar scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yaşar Kiray, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Yaşar Kiray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zülfü Gürgen in the 38th minute of the match. Zülfü Gürgen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Yaşar Kiray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wasyl Cwynar in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yaşar Kiray saved Celebi FK from getting behind. After 42 minutes, Ziya Talut mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Celebi FK and the San Gwann Birlik players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 43 minutes, Wasyl Cwynar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Gwann Birlik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wasyl Cwynar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Wasyl Cwynar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half San Gwann Birlik were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariusz Kocieniewski to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Mariusz Kocieniewski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yaşar Kiray. That made the score 0-4 in the 52 minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Wasyl Cwynar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Yaşar Kiray, 0-5. Celebi FK's Yaşar Kiray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wasyl Cwynar in the 62nd minute of play. With a little luck, Celebi FK's Yaşar Kiray got control of the ball when Wasyl Cwynar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wasyl Cwynar scored 0-6 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yaşar Kiray, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariusz Kocieniewski in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Yaşar Kiray, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Samim Esentürk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ufuk Hürsev, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the game, Wasyl Cwynar lined in a short shot 0-7 behind a frustrated Yaşar Kiray. San Gwann Birlik made a substitution. Ali Vedat Ongul replaced Wasyl Cwynar. Mariusz Kocieniewski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Yaşar Kiray skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Yaşar Kiray didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ali Vedat Ongul went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. Mariusz Kocieniewski in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Yaşar Kiray, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Yaşar Kiray managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when San Gwann Birlik's Mariusz Kocieniewski fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
