The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rahmi Böke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zülfü Gürgen went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After 6 played minutes San Gwann Birlik got a freekick which was hit by Terkild Knoop. Zülfü Gürgen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Rahmi Böke when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With his leg Rahmi Böke managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when San Gwann Birlik's Zülfü Gürgen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 12 minutes, Zülfü Gürgen made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Takar Geçerus's Rahmi Böke tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zülfü Gürgen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rahmi Böke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match San Gwann Birlik got a corner. Takar Geçerus's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ender Turcan ran over to the corner to take the kick. San Gwann Birlik's Ender Turcan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rahmi Böke in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rahmi Böke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wasyl Cwynar, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Zülfü Gürgen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th match minute, Takar Geçerus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erkin Darga to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ender Turcan in the 25th minute of play forced Takar Geçerus's goalkeeper Rahmi Böke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zülfü Gürgen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rahmi Böke made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Zülfü Gürgen sent off a good shot on target. Terkild Knoop kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. San Gwann Birlik's Mariusz Kocieniewski was substituted for Zülfü Gürgen. The supporters of Takar Geçerus booed when San Gwann Birlik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terkild Knoop didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariusz Kocieniewski was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Mariusz Kocieniewski notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Takar Geçerus's Rahmi Böke. Rahmi Böke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Samim Esentürk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron Drake in the 65th minute of the match. Rahmi Böke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariusz Kocieniewski in the 70th minute of play. Rahmi Böke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariusz Kocieniewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 75 minutes of play, San Gwann Birlik's Wasyl Cwynar made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rahmi Böke was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rahmi Böke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariusz Kocieniewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rahmi Böke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariusz Kocieniewski's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After 89 minutes, Ali Vedat Ongul made it 10-0 with a short kick to the right side. Takar Geçerus's Rahmi Böke tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The San Gwann Birlik fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when San Gwann Birlik's Mariusz Kocieniewski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 11-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The San Gwann Birlik fans cheered their team off the field, for while Takar Geçerus had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
