Çetin Kutluay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karadeniz Muammer in the 18th minute. If Karadeniz Muammer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Emir Varol's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Çetin Kutluay firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 23rd minute, Cubuk SK's Nazmi Hunalp seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nazmi Hunalp the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cubuk SK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nazmi Hunalp had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cubuk SK! After some careless play in the Cubuk SK defense, Björn Stenström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Çetin Kutluay. The Cubuk SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Çetin Kutluay should have stopped the shot. Çetin Kutluay was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
