After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Tommie Smets managed to get in a good position for a shot. İSTEMİ's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommie Smets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toni Schumacher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tommie Smets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 29 played minutes İSTEMİ got a freekick which was hit by Olcay Orkun Akburçak. Atilla Tarkan Saik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, İSTEMİ's Tommie Smets got a free kick in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the match, İSTEMİ's goal looked a bit too open when Bahadırhan Kanat came free, but Erkin Afşar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Atilla Tarkan Saik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erkin Afşar was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Bahadırhan Kanat capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bahadırhan Kanat really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. In the 73rd minute, İlhami Birge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erkin Afşar made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Atilla Tarkan Saik sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the game, one of İSTEMİ:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
