Hami Balbay's late challenge caught a MKE İzmir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hami Balbay helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MKE İzmir booed when Sahinbey SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hami Balbay didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel 柯景凌 in the 11th minute of play forced Sahinbey SK's goalkeeper Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Tunç Koytan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Sahinbey SK defense, Mansur Temizöz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu. The Sahinbey SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu should have stopped the shot. Ufuk Akıncı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Altay Heybetli having to interfere. Altay Heybetli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamit Özbal, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Sahinbey SK were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after MKE İzmir's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sakut Durusoy took the corner. Ufuk Akıncı was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A collision led to Sahinbey SK getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hamit Özbal hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Ufuk Akıncı ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Altay Heybetli was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Sahinbey SK's Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tunç Koytan in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Sahinbey SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kubat Ateşoğlu to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, MKE İzmir's Arif Ozan Hanecioğlu got a free kick in the 47th minute.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tunç Koytan to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hamit Özbal in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Altay Heybetli saved MKE İzmir from getting behind. Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu was a little too slow when Mansur Temizöz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-2. Vacid Hızır made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 70thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Tunç Koytan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu made a huge save. 73 minutes into the game, Hamit Özbal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Altay Heybetli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in MKE İzmir's zone, Hamit Özbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Altay Heybetli came out of the goal and Hamit Özbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the game, Savaşer İlkim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sahinbey SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MKE İzmir the free kick. Savaşer İlkim hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Sahinbey SK's Hamit Özbal got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ufuk Akıncı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Altay Heybetli having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Hamit Özbal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Altay Heybetli was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. In the 92nd minute, Ufuk Akıncı ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Altay Heybetli was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Tunç Koytan took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu. Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Sahinbey SK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
