When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Roberto Dinamite took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Hüseyin Can Başöz to make any attempt to save it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roberto Dinamite was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Raik Özsan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Van Belediye Spor Kulübü's supporters rose to their feet, but Raik Özsan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bedrettin Fazilet's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Yelken Spor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Serna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Van Belediye Spor Kulübü's Hüseyin Can Başöz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İbrahim Efe Kayhan in the 81st minute of play. If Raik Özsan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
