In the 85th minute of the match Ostap Neprin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yakov Boreiko skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kurgan's zone, Vasiliy Suhanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oleg Karnaukhov came out of the goal and Vasiliy Suhanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maksim Kruglov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oleg Karnaukhov having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Balakovo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Kurgan.
