Rudolf Knyshenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aleksandr Trakhtenberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Tula's Ruslan Birkin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 42nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by German Bessonov but with some difficulty. Kaluga's Marat Laskin got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tula's goalkeeper Aleksandr Trakhtenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniil Govorov hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Konstantin Levko took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 49th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aleksandr Trakhtenberg. Tula's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The supporters of Tula booed when Kaluga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georgiy Durov didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a left leg German Bessonov saved Kaluga from getting behind. After having played for 69 minutes, Ivan Lavrenkov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Aleksandr Trakhtenberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Ivan Lavrenkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Lavrenkov in the 80th minute of play forced Kaluga's goalkeeper German Bessonov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Rudolf Knyshenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kaluga's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudolf Knyshenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aleksandr Trakhtenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aleksandr Trakhtenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Tagirov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd play minute Rudolf Knyshenko came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aleksandr Trakhtenberg. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Ivan Lavrenkov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tula's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Lavrenkov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. German Bessonov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kaluga had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
