If Nikita Emelyanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 4 minutes into the match, Rotor Volgograd's goal looked a bit too open when Nikita Emelyanov came free, but Leon Marenci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Rudolf Tsvetkov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fakel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rotor Volgograd the free kick. After a rather tough play, Fakel's Rudolf Tsvetkov got a free kick in the 6th minute. Vitaliy Tihonin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 played minutes Fakel got a freekick which was hit by Gleb Bunzhukov. In the 12th minute, Nguyễn Hoa made a precise shot to the right of Valeriy Kapuro. Fakel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Nguyễn Hoa could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Valeriy Kapuro however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the Fakel defense, Nguyễn Hoa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valeriy Kapuro. The Fakel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valeriy Kapuro should have stopped the shot. Vitaliy Tihonin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Rotor Volgograd's Nguyễn Hoa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valeriy Kapuro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Nguyễn Hoa made a precise shot to the right of Valeriy Kapuro. Fakel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Nguyễn Hoa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rotor Volgograd's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Hoa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valeriy Kapuro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valeriy Kapuro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitaliy Tihonin in the 36th minute of the match. Fakel's Valeriy Kapuro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitaliy Tihonin in the 40th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Rotor Volgograd got a freekick which was hit by Andrey Glinko. Rotor Volgograd's Leon Marenci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudolf Tsvetkov in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Hoa to make the kick off. Valeriy Kapuro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitaliy Tihonin, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Vitaliy Tihonin managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 65th minute, Vsevolod Galev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Fakel getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Vladimir Chernobuk hit a great ball. Fakel's Valeriy Kapuro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hoa in the 73rd minute of play. Valeriy Kapuro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitaliy Tihonin in the 91st minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Rotor Volgograd players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
