After 15 played minutes Smolensk FC got a freekick which was hit by Aleksandr Kirillov. 17 minutes into the match, Smolensk FC's goalkeeper Kirill Drozdov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arseniy Kosinskiy. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

There was no doubt that Izhevsk were the better team. Izhevsk's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
