After a defensive mix-up in Izhevsk's zone, Andron Abaturov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanislav Beiman came out of the goal and Andron Abaturov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Emmanuil Dmitrievskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Izhevsk's Maksim Ryabin suffered a concussion in the 41st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gennadiy Barannikov during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gennadiy Barannikov hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. A collision led to Izhevsk getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Sidor Denisov hit a great ball. The Izhevsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stanislav Beiman should have stopped the shot. When Andron Abaturov came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Rostov fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andron Abaturov couldn't finish the play. Andron Abaturov took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stanislav Beiman. Stanislav Beiman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0.
