Stepan Debatmenov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vsevolod Bulykin, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Andrey Galkovich's late challenge caught a Rybinsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rybinsk's Felix Ponomarev got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Obninsk's goalkeeper Stepan Debatmenov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Obninsk's Eduard Kulichihin got a free kick in the 11th minute. Stepan Debatmenov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Ponomarev in the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute of the match Kirill Simonov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but German Lihachev skillfully saved the ball. Lev Beryushov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. German Lihachev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrey Bobrov kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Vsevolod Bulykin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Debatmenov having to interfere. Felix Ponomarev took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stepan Debatmenov. Stepan Debatmenov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vsevolod Bulykin during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rybinsk getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Vsevolod Bulykin hit a great ball. German Lihachev was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Lev Beryushov capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lev Beryushov really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 35 minutes into the game, Obninsk's Andrey Galkovich nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. German Lihachev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artem Malafeev during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute, Artem Malafeev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Rybinsk's German Lihachev got control of the ball when Roman Bunge tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Ponomarev made a kick off. Stepan Debatmenov didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 53rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. When Mark Berggolts fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rybinsk's protests and gave Mark Berggolts a yellow card for diving instead. 56 minutes into the game, one of Rybinsk:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. German Lihachev went to the wrong direction when Rostislav Papaev was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Roman Bunge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Lihachev having to interfere. German Lihachev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Bunge in the 64th minute of play. When Vsevolod Bulykin came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Rybinsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vsevolod Bulykin couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Rybinsk's Leonard Galkin got a free kick in the 78th minute. A collision led to Rybinsk getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Leonard Galkin hit a great ball. If Bronislav Fedorov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rybinsk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rybinsk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
