In the 18th minute of the match, Arkadiy Lazarev got a very nice opportunity to score, but Yakov Vasin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. ФК Экскаватортяжмашстрой™'s Anton Korzhov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerasim Monastyrev in the 21st minute of play. Anton Korzhov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Prohorov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave Salavat a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gerasim Monastyrev, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of ФК Экскаватортяжмашстрой™'s Anton Korzhov. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arkadiy Lazarev got free with Yakov Vasin in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arkadiy Lazarev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Yakov Vasin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, ФК Экскаватортяжмашстрой™'s Arkadiy Lazarev ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yakov Vasin. Yakov Vasin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With a little luck, Salavat's Yakov Vasin got control of the ball when Vladimir Makeev tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiy Lazarev in the 43rd minute of play forced Salavat's goalkeeper Yakov Vasin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arkadiy Lazarev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arkadiy Lazarev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yakov Vasin having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ruy Sousa was the one to do the kick off. Anton Korzhov came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Salavat's Gerasim Monastyrev. But to his dismay, Gerasim Monastyrev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Anton Korzhov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruy Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute Boris Kuznetsov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yakov Vasin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruy Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Korzhov having to interfere. The supporters of Salavat booed when ФК Экскаватортяжмашстрой™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisey Afinogenov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruy Sousa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anton Korzhov firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Salavat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yakov Vasin should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Salavat's zone, Arkadiy Lazarev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yakov Vasin came out of the goal and Arkadiy Lazarev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yakov Vasin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiy Lazarev, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arkadiy Lazarev during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
