The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Balakovo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lunin Stars:s goal. Pavel Barabanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Roman Saburov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roman Kudryavtsev kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Nikolay Vyugin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Saburov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pavel Barabanov in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Saburov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Balakovo's Roman Saburov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolay Vyugin in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Pavel Barabanov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lunin Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Pavel Barabanov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Saburov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roman Saburov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavel Barabanov in the 27th minute of play. Roman Saburov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikolay Vyugin, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 95th of the match, Pavel Barabanov tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Roman Saburov got in the way and made a wonderful save. After having played for 98 minutes, Pavel Barabanov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lunin Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Barabanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Lunin Stars could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Balakovo throughout the match.
