Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aleksandr Vanshenkin started the match with the kick off. Stepan Shilov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleksandr Vanshenkin in the 3rd minute of the match. A collision led to Abakan FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Aleksandr Averchenko hit a great ball. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Abakan FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Egor Kuvshinnikov was slow to take the kick. During this time Orekhovo-Zuevo FC's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Konstantin Ryzhanov managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Yakov Rybakov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kliment Burundukov hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Timur Vinokurov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stanislav Andropov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 24 minutes into the game, Aleksandr Averchenko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abakan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Orekhovo-Zuevo FC the free kick. Aleksandr Vanshenkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Shilov having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, Abakan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleksandr Averchenko to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aleksandr Vanshenkin during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Aleksandr Vanshenkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timur Vinokurov might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislav Andropov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Timur Vinokurov ran back to his position shaking his head. Orekhovo-Zuevo FC's Stanislav Andropov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Gromov in the 38th minute of play. If Pavel Gromov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pavel Gromov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Abakan FC's goalkeeper Stepan Shilov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yakov Rybakov. Stepan Shilov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksandr Vanshenkin in the 62nd minute of play. Yakov Rybakov who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Stepan Shilov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Stanislav Andropov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Gromov, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Pavel Gromov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Stanislav Andropov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aleksandr Vanshenkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Shilov having to interfere. Stepan Shilov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aleksandr Vanshenkin's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Timur Vinokurov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abakan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Timur Vinokurov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislav Andropov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Orekhovo-Zuevo FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Klim Kaledin hit a great ball. If Timur Vinokurov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pavel Gromov came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Abakan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pavel Gromov couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Abakan FC's Stepan Shilov got control of the ball when Yakov Rybakov tried to sneak it across the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
