Syktyvkar's Vladimir Feonin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filimon Deminskiy in the 32nd minute of play. If Pavel Sharapov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aleksey Boluts fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pyatigorsk's protests and gave Aleksey Boluts a yellow card for diving instead. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pyatigorsk! The referee gave Syktyvkar a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vitaliy Dormidonov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pyatigorsk's Konstantin Kolobov. 1-1. In the 90th play minute Filimon Deminskiy came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vladimir Feonin. 1-2. After 94 minutes of play Pyatigorsk's Aleksey Boluts was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 95 played minutes Pyatigorsk got a freekick which was hit by Aleksey Boluts. Lev Karaulov struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Konstantin Kolobov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Syktyvkar. The Syktyvkar supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pyatigorsk's performance. The match ended with a win for Pyatigorsk.
