Anton Hiryanov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kim Kovalev's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Oleg Nesterov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Obninsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Orel the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Klim Zykov during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes Orel got a freekick which was hit by Klim Zykov. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Kim Kovalev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Obninsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Kovalev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Hiryanov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Obninsk's Sergey Lytov got control of the ball when Georgiy Babichev tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Obninsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oleg Nesterov to maneuver through the defense. After 36 played minutes Obninsk got a freekick which was hit by Nikolay Avdeev. If Timofey Kozelskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. When Sergey Petuhov came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Obninsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergey Petuhov couldn't finish the play. Sergey Petuhov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Anton Hiryanov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sergey Petuhov to make the kick off. Sergey Lytov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstantin Kormilitsyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Kim Kovalev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Anton Hiryanov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Konstantin Kormilitsyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Konstantin Kormilitsyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergey Lytov having to interfere. Sergey Petuhov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Hiryanov having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Sergey Petuhov got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Artur Vlasov kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 76 minutes in the game Dmitriy Petuhov after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Anton Hiryanov. A very good opportunity. Marat Krivonogov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Orel's Anton Hiryanov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Orel from getting a goal against them. If Georgiy Babichev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Obninsk could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Orel throughout the match.
