Svyatoslav Demin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavel Bessarab having to interfere. Aleksandr Mostovoy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Pavel Grabar made a huge save. 21 minutes into the game, Svyatoslav Demin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Pavel Bessarab was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 26th minute Oleg Shaikevich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Bessarab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vologda FC's Pavel Grabar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Vologda FC from getting a goal against them. Pavel Bessarab took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruslan Evtifeev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Vologda FC booed when Noyabrsk HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Vorohov didn't get a good kick on the ball. The wind increased when Svyatoslav Demin made the kick off in the second half. Aleksandr Mostovoy's late challenge caught a Vologda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aleksandr Mostovoy helped the player get up and apologised. Aleksandr Mostovoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Pavel Grabar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Svyatoslav Demin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pavel Grabar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lev Peryshkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Lev Peryshkin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pavel Grabar. Vologda FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lev Peryshkin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Vologda FC's Svyatoslav Demin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pavel Bessarab. That made the score 1-2 after 76 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lev Peryshkin in the 82nd minute of play forced Vologda FC's goalkeeper Pavel Grabar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Noyabrsk HC's goal looked a bit too open when Svyatoslav Demin came free, but Pavel Bessarab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pavel Grabar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lev Peryshkin in the 94th minute of the match. Pavel Grabar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boris Vorohov, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Vologda FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Noyabrsk HC's much stronger midfield.
