The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The crowd rose to their feet as Kovrov's Donat Hlebnikov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Igor Gundarev. That made the score 0-1 after 54 minutes of play. In the 63rd minute, Vitaliy Muhin made a precise shot to the right of Vitaliy Bogorodskiy. Kovrov's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Nevinnomyssk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kovrov the free kick. Kovrov's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donat Hlebnikov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Donat Hlebnikov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Agranovskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Igor Gundarev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donat Hlebnikov in the 90th minute of play. Egor Makovkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
