The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Irakliy Fioletov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marat Kebich in the 21st minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Grozny FC got a freekick which was hit by Georgiy Rybakov. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Grozny FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nefteyugansk:s goal. Marat Kebich placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Yaroslav Protasevich blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentin Gordeychuk having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Grozny FC's zone, Irakliy Mamontov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irakliy Fioletov came out of the goal and Irakliy Mamontov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nefteyugansk's Vsevolod Krylov got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grozny FC's Petr Panfilov came free and shot a quick shot against goal 38 minutes in the game, fortunately Valentin Gordeychuk had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Valentin Gordeychuk made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Georgiy Rybakov sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Leonid Anyukov made the kick off in the second half. Valentin Gordeychuk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonid Anyukov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yaroslav Protasevich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Irakliy Fioletov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Irakliy Mamontov in the 63rd minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Irakliy Mamontov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nefteyugansk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Irakliy Mamontov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Anton Kudryashov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Irakliy Mamontov notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Grozny FC's Irakliy Fioletov. Irakliy Fioletov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marat Kebich in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Irakliy Fioletov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Anton Kudryashov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Irakliy Fioletov having to make a save. Valentin Gordeychuk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georgiy Rybakov in the 78th minute of play. Valentin Gordeychuk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petr Panfilov in the 85th minute of the match. With a little luck, Grozny FC's Irakliy Fioletov got control of the ball when Irakliy Mamontov tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Nefteyugansk booed when Grozny FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonid Anyukov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the game, one of Nefteyugansk:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Grozny FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Nefteyugansk for much of the match.
