Artem's players were relieved. 18 minutes into the match, Artem's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Arhipov came free, but Fedor Zagorskiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerasim Potapov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Fedor Zagorskiy made a huge save. 21 minutes into the match, Vladimir Arhipov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fedor Zagorskiy. Artem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vladimir Arhipov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Fedor Zagorskiy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nikita Kozarin's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerasim Potapov got free with Fedor Zagorskiy in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Valentin Subbotin fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Artem's protests and gave Valentin Subbotin a yellow card for diving instead. Fedor Zagorskiy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikita Kozarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artem's Fedor Zagorskiy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Artem from getting a goal against them. Gerasim Potapov took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fedor Zagorskiy. Fedor Zagorskiy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Fedor Zagorskiy was a little too slow when Nikita Kozarin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 5-0. Fedor Zagorskiy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikita Kozarin in the 45th minute of the match. Valentin Shiryaev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Zabeivorota having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nikita Kozarin made a kick off. If Gerasim Potapov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Artem booed when FC Rostov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruslan Makhin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fedor Zagorskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerasim Potapov in the 61st minute of play. Artem's Fedor Zagorskiy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikita Kozarin in the 68th minute of play. Artem's Yuriy Goss managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Yakov Albats in the 93 minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Rostov fans cheered their team off the field, for while Artem had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
