After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nikita Kozarin to make the kick off. A collision led to Khasaasvyurt getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Timur Savin hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Khasaasvyurt's zone, Nikita Kozarin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irakliy Gordeychuk came out of the goal and Nikita Kozarin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Irakliy Gordeychuk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nikita Kozarin's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Despite this Irakliy Gordeychuk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nikita Kozarin in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Irakliy Gordeychuk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikita Kozarin in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Irakliy Gordeychuk saved Khasaasvyurt from getting behind. Mark Zabeivorota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mikhail Hrennikov in the 85th minute. Mikhail Hrennikov did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Mark Zabeivorota 86 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Nikita Kozarin managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Rostov's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikita Kozarin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irakliy Gordeychuk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Khasaasvyurt eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
