Klim Afanasenkov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Maykop's goal looked a bit too open when Daniil Bozhenkin came free, but Klim Afanasenkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniil Bozhenkin struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Klim Afanasenkov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orenburg. Klim Afanasenkov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Pogudin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Orenburg's Efim Davydov got a free kick in the 37th minute. Afanasiy Pochekin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aurel Săvoiu. Orenburg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 41 played minutes Orenburg got a freekick which was hit by Georgiy Ovchinnikov. If Tibau De Groote had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gennadiy Brodskiy made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Maykop's Stepan Khokhlov got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tibau De Groote got free with Klim Afanasenkov in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Orenburg's Aurel Săvoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gennadiy Brodskiy in the 66th minute of play. If Daniil Bozhenkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tibau De Groote kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Orenburg's goal looked a bit too open when Gennadiy Brodskiy came free, but Aurel Săvoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Orenburg's Klim Afanasenkov threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pavel Pogudin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Maykop were victorious despite being under pressure from Orenburg for much of the match.
