Efim Allemanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arkadiy Kilchevskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yuriy Belozerov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Semin, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Artem Timofeev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yuriy Belozerov having to interfere. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cheboksary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yuriy Pelevin was slow to take the kick. During this time Besiktas's players had a chance to rest. Sidor Delvig struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Yuriy Belozerov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Besiktas. Cheboksary's Yuriy Belozerov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afanasiy Moiseev in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cheboksary's Daniil Antonov got a free kick in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Cheboksary getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Leonid Evtyh hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Roman Semin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Yuriy Belozerov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Efim Allemanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiy Kilchevskiy in the 28th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Cheboksary:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Besiktas:s goal. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Besiktas. Yuriy Pelevin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Yuriy Belozerov. 0-2. Felix Belan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efim Allemanov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Besiktas's zone, Felix Belan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Efim Allemanov came out of the goal and Felix Belan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute, Sergey Dorofeev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Cheboksary players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Besiktas were winning 0-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afanasiy Moiseev to make the kick off. The supporters of Besiktas booed when Cheboksary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergey Igrevskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute Felix Belan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efim Allemanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arkadiy Kilchevskiy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cheboksary's Vsevolod Buznikin was substituted for Yaroslav Antipin. Cheboksary's Pavel Volohov was substituted for Mikhail Manilov. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Sergey Igrevskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheboksary's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergey Igrevskiy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Efim Allemanov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Arkadiy Kilchevskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Belan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Efim Allemanov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, Besiktas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergey Dorofeev to maneuver through the defense. Felix Belan struck a weak shot in the 86th minute.
