Grigoriy Stepanenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kazimierz Trynda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Novokuznetsk's Kazimierz Trynda threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Feoktist Golov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 14th minute Novokuznetsk were awarded a corner. Veniamin Elyutin went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 16th minute Haroldo Roldanillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonis Anastasiadis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Novokuznetsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Semen Nazarov to maneuver through the defense. In the 20thth minute of the game Haroldo Roldanillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Novokuznetsk's Antonis Anastasiadis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antonis Anastasiadis came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by CSKA MOSKVA's Daniel Flis. But to his dismay, Daniel Flis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, CSKA MOSKVA's goal looked a bit too open when Feoktist Golov came free, but Kazimierz Trynda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Grigoriy Stepanenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kazimierz Trynda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Daniel Flis managed to get in a good position for a shot. CSKA MOSKVA's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Flis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonis Anastasiadis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Novokuznetsk's Antonis Anastasiadis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Roldanillo in the 47th minute of play.

Novokuznetsk's Klim Zuev was substituted for Roman Kovtun. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Feoktist Golov to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haroldo Roldanillo got free with Antonis Anastasiadis in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of CSKA MOSKVA booed when Novokuznetsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniil Shteinberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Georgiy Golichenkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 played minutes CSKA MOSKVA got a freekick which was hit by Stepan Beloborodov. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feoktist Golov in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kazimierz Trynda saved CSKA MOSKVA from getting behind. Kazimierz Trynda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feoktist Golov in the 72nd minute of the match. Antonis Anastasiadis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo Roldanillo's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. After a defensive mix-up in CSKA MOSKVA's zone, Feoktist Golov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kazimierz Trynda came out of the goal and Feoktist Golov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. CSKA MOSKVA's Kazimierz Trynda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silantiy Astankov in the 91st minute of play. Kazimierz Trynda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feoktist Golov, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Novokuznetsk's goal looked a bit too open when Georgiy Golichenkov came free, but Antonis Anastasiadis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 97 played minutes CSKA MOSKVA got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Flis. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CSKA MOSKVA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
