Toader Lobonț kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Nae's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basarab Târlea was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. The Rapid FC fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Rapid FC's Gabriel Nae looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 35th minute, Ernest Doicaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Nae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basarab Târlea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Doicaru in the 42nd minute of the match. If Ernest Doicaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Rioşanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Rogoz having to interfere.

The wind increased when Marcel Rioşanu made the kick off in the second half. Basarab Târlea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Nae, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Gabriel Nae received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Basarab Târlea came out and tried to block the shot, but Gabriel Nae slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 57th minute. Basarab Târlea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernest Doicaru in the 62nd minute. Rapid FC's Ernest Doicaru got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gabriel Nae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Marcel Rioşanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nichifor Rogoz. Rapid FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel Rioşanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Progresul Vucova's goalkeeper Basarab Târlea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Marcel Rioşanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernest Doicaru in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Basarab Târlea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Ernest Doicaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rapid FC were furious when Cezar Nisporeanu was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 95th minute, one of Rapid FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rapid FC. The Progresul Vucova fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rapid FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
