Mihail Cornoiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dorel Onaca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iustinian Avădanei went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute Tiberiu Manole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorel Onaca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 played minutes Ripensia Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Moise Iuga. Corneliu Stoiciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nino Torres in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ripensia Timisoara's Tiberiu Manole got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute, Tiberiu Manole hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorel Onaca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucrețiu Covrig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ripensia Timisoara's Corneliu Stoiciu got control of the ball when Nino Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute, Nino Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Ripensia Timisoara's goalkeeper Corneliu Stoiciu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nino Torres. Iustinian Avădanei charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iustinian Avădanei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Iustinian Avădanei hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Ripensia Timisoara's Corneliu Stoiciu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Ripensia Timisoara from getting a goal against them. Ripensia Timisoara's attentive Lucrețiu Covrig managed to snatch the ball when Ionel Harhoiu made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionel Harhoiu got free with Corneliu Stoiciu in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to FC Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Iustin Cernea hit a great ball. Nino Torres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Corneliu Stoiciu made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustin Cernea in the 44th minute of play forced Ripensia Timisoara's goalkeeper Corneliu Stoiciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiberiu Manole hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiberiu Manole to strike the kick off in the second half. Dorel Onaca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiberiu Manole in the 65th minute of play forced FC Politehnica Timisoara's goalkeeper Dorel Onaca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Lucrețiu Covrig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ripensia Timisoara's zone, Filip Andronescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corneliu Stoiciu came out of the goal and Filip Andronescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FC Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Liviu Zburlea hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionel Coporan got free with Dorel Onaca in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute, Tiberiu Manole ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dorel Onaca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Dorel Onaca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Manole in the 75th minute of the match. Iustin Cernea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corneliu Stoiciu having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Iustin Cernea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Corneliu Stoiciu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Dorel Onaca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moise Iuga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ripensia Timisoara's Iustinian Avădanei got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After 95 minutes of play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nino Torres made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Corneliu Stoiciu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ripensia Timisoara had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
