When Ilie Abutnăriței fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spurs's protests and gave Ilie Abutnăriței a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute, Ilie Abutnăriței hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Florin Gafița could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Mugurel Gruescu however easily saved by the left post. If Ernest Alexandrescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petrică Ciocoiu hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernest Alexandrescu got free with Mugurel Gruescu in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernest Alexandrescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vali Almăgean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mircea Codin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Oproiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Mugurel Gruescu made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Ernest Alexandrescu sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Maghierat CF booed when Spurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Drăgoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Alexandrescu in the 32nd minute of play forced Spurs's goalkeeper Mugurel Gruescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mugurel Gruescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Alexandrescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute, Vali Almăgean made a precise shot to the right of Mircea Codin. Maghierat CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Maghierat CF's zone, Olimpiu Oproiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mircea Codin came out of the goal and Olimpiu Oproiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olimpiu Oproiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Mircea Codin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Maghierat CF's goalkeeper Mircea Codin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mircea Codin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Oproiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Ilie Abutnăriței took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Mircea Codin to make any attempt to save it. Nichifor Prunaru kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Olimpiu Oproiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Codin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maghierat CF's Mircea Codin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Oproiu in the 94th minute of play. A hard shot 96 in the game by Vali Almăgean from a close distance when the talented Mircea Codin managed to make a qualified save. Maghierat CF's players were relieved. When the final whistle sounded Spurs left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Maghierat CF.
