With an all-out effort, FC Otelu Galari's Florin Tolea threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nichifor Mendrea, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of FC Otelu Galari booed when Cernovsky was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Oancea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC Otelu Galari's Eusebiu Arghir tried to score from far away in the 97th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Gigel Ciuvică who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 102ndth minute tested the skills of Florin Tolea when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
