The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Corneliu Iulian in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petruț Burtescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute Maxim Albu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Burtescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 played minutes Iron Maiden got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Apostolescu. Petruț Burtescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sever Bosânceanu in the 12th minute of the match. After 13 minutes Iron Maiden's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Corneliu Iulian who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on RmG Romeghea's corner Corneliu Iulian fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Petruț Burtescu quite easily take care of the ball. If Corneliu Iulian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Corneliu Iulian managed to get in a good position for a shot. RmG Romeghea's supporters rose to their feet, but Corneliu Iulian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petruț Burtescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damian Roşoga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iurie Orghidan in the 25th minute. Iurie Orghidan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Damian Roşoga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maxim Albu hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Emil Moldoveanu kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Corneliu Iulian notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Iron Maiden's Petruț Burtescu. Petruț Burtescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. RmG Romeghea's Damian Roşoga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save RmG Romeghea from getting a goal against them. When Petrică Apostolescu fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iron Maiden's protests and gave Petrică Apostolescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of RmG Romeghea booed when Iron Maiden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Apostolescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Jucu hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iurie Orghidan was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Corneliu Iulian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RmG Romeghea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iron Maiden the free kick. Corneliu Iulian hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 56 minutes, Pompiliu Cluceru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RmG Romeghea and the Iron Maiden players grew even worse after the yellow card. Petruț Burtescu made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Corneliu Iulian sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute, Corneliu Iulian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petruț Burtescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Iron Maiden's Iurie Orghidan got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. RmG Romeghea's Damian Roşoga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Orghidan in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th match minute, Iron Maiden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Moldoveanu to maneuver through the defense. RmG Romeghea's Leonard Chiriță pulled a muscle in his leg after 96 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Emil Moldoveanu fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iron Maiden's protests and gave Emil Moldoveanu a yellow card for diving instead.
