Iordache Miniș started the match with the kick off. Corneliu Piţurcă struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Corneliu Ghiurutan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gurgueti. Corneliu Piţurcă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Corneliu Ghiurutan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corneliu Ghiurutan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Răzvan Popoacă went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 9 minutes, Gică Scaeru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gurgueti and the F.C Dinamo Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Gurgueti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gică Scaeru to maneuver through the defense. Adam Elenescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iordache Miniș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th match minute, F.C Dinamo Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vlad Iulian to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute, Marian Ţintea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Corneliu Piţurcă fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gurgueti's protests and gave Corneliu Piţurcă a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of F.C Dinamo Bucuresti booed when Gurgueti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneliu Piţurcă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maxim Lunca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Elenescu having to interfere. Corneliu Ghiurutan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corneliu Piţurcă in the 28th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Jușcă during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gurgueti's Dumitru Cezar was substituted for Marian Ţintea. After 31 played minutes F.C Dinamo Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by George Jușcă. Dumitru Cezar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Corneliu Piţurcă took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Corneliu Ghiurutan. Corneliu Ghiurutan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 43 minutes into the game, Gurgueti's Dumitru Cezar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Corneliu Ghiurutan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After the first half Gurgueti were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Corneliu Piţurcă was the one to do the kick off. Dumitru Cezar ran back to his position shaking his head. Corneliu Piţurcă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Corneliu Ghiurutan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 67 minutes of play F.C Dinamo Bucuresti's Vlad Iulian was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, F.C Dinamo Bucuresti's Vlad Iulian got a free kick in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Corneliu Piţurcă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Corneliu Ghiurutan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute Dumitru Cezar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Ghiurutan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 minutes, Dumitru Cezar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gurgueti and the F.C Dinamo Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, Dumitru Cezar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Corneliu Piţurcă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Corneliu Ghiurutan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Corneliu Piţurcă's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Corneliu Ghiurutan firmly grabbed it by the left post. Corneliu Ghiurutan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumitru Cezar in the 84th minute of the match. F.C Dinamo Bucuresti's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Dumitru Cezar scored to the left of an out of position Corneliu Ghiurutan, making the score, 0-5. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C Dinamo Bucuresti's goalkeeper Corneliu Ghiurutan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Corneliu Piţurcă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Corneliu Ghiurutan made a huge save. Gurgueti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
