Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Iron Maiden's Iurie Orghidan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Gică Scaeru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Iron Maiden's Petruț Burtescu got control of the ball when Corneliu Piţurcă tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 10 minutes, Corneliu Piţurcă made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Iron Maiden's Petruț Burtescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Iron Maiden's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Ţintea came free, but Petruț Burtescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petruț Burtescu made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Corneliu Piţurcă sent off a good shot on target. Petruț Burtescu was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Marian Ţintea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marian Ţintea really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Gurgueti's Adam Elenescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Orghidan in the 23rd minute of play. If Corneliu Piţurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tudor Jianu kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Marian Ţintea reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Petruț Burtescu. The goal made the score 3-0. Corneliu Piţurcă's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Petruț Burtescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gurgueti's Corneliu Piţurcă got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Gurgueti's Marian Ţintea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Petruț Burtescu. That made the score 4-0 after 44 minutes of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Corneliu Piţurcă made a kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Corneliu Piţurcă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Petruț Burtescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Corneliu Piţurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Corneliu Piţurcă notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Iron Maiden's Petruț Burtescu. Petruț Burtescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Corneliu Piţurcă struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Petruț Burtescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gurgueti. After some careless play in the Iron Maiden defense, Corneliu Piţurcă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petruț Burtescu. The Iron Maiden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petruț Burtescu should have stopped the shot. Adam Elenescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Orghidan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Iurie Orghidan notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Gurgueti's Adam Elenescu. Adam Elenescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Iron Maiden's Petruț Burtescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Ţintea in the 93rd minute of play. The supporters of Gurgueti booed when Iron Maiden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosmin Vulpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute, Corneliu Piţurcă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There was no doubt that Gurgueti were the better team. Gurgueti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
