An unexpectedly hard shot by David Druță in the 12th minute of play forced FC Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Romeo Dobrotă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Liviu Ţintea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Poli Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PANDURII FC the free kick. The supporters of PANDURII FC booed when FC Poli Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Ţintea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeo Dobrotă came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by PANDURII FC's Dorel Isaia. But to his dismay, Dorel Isaia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Romeo Dobrotă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Razvan Iacob, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, FC Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Dorel Isaia came free, but Romeo Dobrotă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgil Vârșan's late challenge caught a PANDURII FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgil Vârșan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, FC Poli Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Vârșan to maneuver through the defense. In the 29thth minute of the game Cosmin Lozovan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Poli Timisoara's Romeo Dobrotă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leandro Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolae Datcu in the 38th minute of play. Romeo Dobrotă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorel Isaia went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Romeo Dobrotă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Druță, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorel Isaia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. PANDURII FC's David Druță was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 51st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Virgil Vârșan took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leandro Guerra. In the 66thth minute of the game Virgil Vârșan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PANDURII FC's Leandro Guerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. PANDURII FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
