Estebano Helguera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viorel Dragomiroiu went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Matei Ignat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosmin Doloman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Calistrat Opincaru having to make a save. FC BVB 90's Cosmin Doloman got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonard Magheran spun around in front of the goal 38 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of FC BVB 90's goal. 41 minutes into the game, Marcel Stegaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Estebano Helguera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Estebano Helguera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Magheran in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Corneliu Fetea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balanul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After the first half Balanul were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Aurel Arbore the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC BVB 90 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Aurel Arbore had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Iustinian Nicolcioiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute.
