Panait Iriza came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by FC BOTOSANI's Sandu Lelescu. But to his dismay, Sandu Lelescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 16th match minute, Sandortelke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Vâlcu to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute of the match Basarab Dumitrachescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Panait Iriza skillfully saved the ball. Radu Cocârlă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Tănăsescu in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Sandortelke getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ionică Moisescu hit a great ball. In the 25th minute of the match Basarab Dumitrachescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Panait Iriza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Sandortelke's Remus Zgârcu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Radu Cocârlă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Tănăsescu in the 33rd minute of play forced FC BOTOSANI's goalkeeper Radu Cocârlă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC BOTOSANI's goalkeeper Radu Cocârlă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Emilian Plopșor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC BOTOSANI's Radu Cocârlă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Tănăsescu in the 39th minute of play. Albert Tănăsescu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Radu Cocârlă came out and tried to block the shot, but Albert Tănăsescu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandu Lelescu was the one to do the kick off. FC BOTOSANI's Basarab Dumitrachescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Panait Iriza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remus Zgârcu in the 59th minute of play forced FC BOTOSANI's goalkeeper Radu Cocârlă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costel Pascu helped the player get up and apologised. 67 minutes into the game, Corneliu Onitiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sandortelke's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC BOTOSANI the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sandortelke's Corneliu Onitiu got a free kick in the 67th minute. Basarab Dumitrachescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 68th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Remus Zgârcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sandortelke's zone, Paul Câmpeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Panait Iriza came out of the goal and Paul Câmpeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Radu Cocârlă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Pivniceru, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After having played for 77 minutes, Albert Tănăsescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandortelke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albert Tănăsescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albert Tănăsescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radu Cocârlă having to interfere. Albert Tănăsescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Radu Cocârlă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC BOTOSANI's goalkeeper Radu Cocârlă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Anton Pivniceru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sandu Lelescu in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Panait Iriza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd match minute, FC BOTOSANI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilian Plopșor to maneuver through the defense. Vasile Bârsan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 93rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Radu Cocârlă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remus Zgârcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. After 96 minutes of play, Sandortelke's Remus Zgârcu made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Radu Cocârlă was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the FC BOTOSANI players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sandortelke.
