Spectators: 6714 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Francisc Oproiu started the match with the kick off. Hartmut Tuna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihăiţă Ieremia scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgil Mustățea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to F.C TG-MURES getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Sever Mușetescu hit a great ball. Hartmut Tuna struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Virgil Mustățea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C TG-MURES. After 20 played minutes Itau got a freekick which was hit by Toader Neaga. After 22 minutes, Mihai Bostan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itau and the F.C TG-MURES players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, one of Itau:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itau. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihăiţă Ieremia in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgil Mustățea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Virgil Mustățea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hartmut Tuna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Itau's Virgil Mustățea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hartmut Tuna in the 36th minute of play. Hartmut Tuna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Mustățea having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Mihăiţă Ieremia made the kick off in the second half. Virgil Mustățea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Stăniloaie in the 54th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaspar Martins got free with Virgil Mustățea in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisc Oproiu in the 63rd minute of play forced F.C TG-MURES's goalkeeper Costică Săvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgil Mustățea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hartmut Tuna in the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Francisc Oproiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Costică Săvescu. F.C TG-MURES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisc Oproiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 70th minute of the match Gabriel Mălăncioiu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgil Mustățea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Hartmut Tuna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Mustățea having to interfere. Mihăiţă Ieremia succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 73rd playminute. Hartmut Tuna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Itau's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Romeo Stăniloaie scored to the left of an out of position Virgil Mustățea, making the score, 1-4. In the 84th minute, F.C TG-MURES's Hartmut Tuna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Virgil Mustățea. Virgil Mustățea yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. After 88 minutes of play, F.C TG-MURES's Romeo Stăniloaie made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgil Mustățea was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Hartmut Tuna in the 96th minute of play forced Itau's goalkeeper Virgil Mustățea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. F.C TG-MURES's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
