When Augustin Zamfirescu fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ghertenis's protests and gave Augustin Zamfirescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ghertenis getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Augustin Zamfirescu hit a great ball. After 10 minutes of play, Budaesti's Luca Vasiliu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Octavian Gâțea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Octavian Gâțea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Vasiliu in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, Budaesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Horia to maneuver through the defense. Paul Buhuș was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 18th minute. Ghertenis's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ghertenis's Ivan Cârneci got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iacob Pânzariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Dobrin having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 23 minutes into the game, when Pavel Traianescu put in a rough tackle. In the 23rd minute, one of Budaesti:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Budaesti. Emanuel Pociu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the game, Paul Buhuș cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. George Dobrin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 39 played minutes, Ghertenis's Codrin Aplugăriței shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper George Dobrin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ghertenis reached it. If Paul Buhuș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Pociu might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Dobrin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuel Pociu ran back to his position shaking his head. Iacob Pânzariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Dobrin having to interfere. A hard shot by Codrin Aplugăriței from long distance, 48 minutes into the match, got George Dobrin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Pociu made a kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Budaesti's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emanuel Pociu was slow to take the kick. During this time Ghertenis's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Emanuel Pociu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Budaesti's George Dobrin did a great save. George Dobrin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iacob Pânzariu in the 59th minute of play. When Ghertenis's Emanuel Pociu in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Budaesti's goalie prevented a goal. George Dobrin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornel Hurmuzache, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Pociu in the 84th minute of play forced Budaesti's goalkeeper George Dobrin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
