Mercurea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Snails the free kick. In the 13th match minute, Mercurea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iurie Bitanu to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romeo Schiau in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tudor Mihoc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ciprian Agudin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iacob Drogoreanu in the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mercurea's Iurie Bitanu got a free kick in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the Mercurea defense, Romeo Schiau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tudor Mihoc. The Mercurea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tudor Mihoc should have stopped the shot. Snails's Ciprian Agudin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Drogoreanu in the 30th minute of play. Nicodim Negulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Tudor Mihoc made a huge save. Romeo Schiau might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tudor Mihoc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romeo Schiau ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicodim Negulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Iacob Drogoreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 2-1 became the score in the 41st minute when Iacob Mugur elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Iacob Drogoreanu made the kick off in the second half. Snails's attack was well implemented in the 52nd minute, but when Nicodim Negulescu was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After having played for 55 minutes, Romeo Schiau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Snails's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romeo Schiau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciprian Agudin made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Iacob Mugur sent off a good shot on target. Tudor Mihoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Schiau in the 66th minute of play. Ernest Udubaşa hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Iacob Mugur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Snails defense, Iacob Mugur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciprian Agudin. The Snails fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciprian Agudin should have stopped the shot. If Iacob Drogoreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romeo Schiau in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tudor Mihoc saved Mercurea from getting behind. If Nicodim Negulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Snails's Virgil Mărculescu got a free kick in the 88th minute. Iacob Drogoreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ciprian Agudin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
