Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rahova Boys's Iosif Șora started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute, Francisc Bogătan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisc Bogătan hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Clifton Bongailas took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horaţiu Stârcea. Horaţiu Stârcea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. FC Universitatea Cluj's Mădălin Sorin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save FC Universitatea Cluj from getting a goal against them. When Panait Melinte fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rahova Boys's protests and gave Panait Melinte a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Universitatea Cluj booed when Rahova Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panait Melinte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodor Necula hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26thth minute of the game Toader Leahu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rahova Boys's Horaţiu Stârcea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute of the match FC Universitatea Cluj got a corner. Rahova Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clifton Bongailas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 31st match minute, Rahova Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Opincaru to maneuver through the defense. Rahova Boys's Horaţiu Stârcea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toader Leahu in the 33rd minute of play. Clifton Bongailas struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Horaţiu Stârcea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Universitatea Cluj. After 36 played minutes Rahova Boys got a freekick which was hit by Horia Opincaru. Horaţiu Stârcea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toader Leahu's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Rahova Boys defense, Clifton Bongailas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horaţiu Stârcea. The Rahova Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horaţiu Stârcea should have stopped the shot. Toader Leahu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Stârcea having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Toader Leahu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Clifton Bongailas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horaţiu Stârcea. The goal made the score 0-3. When Horia Opincaru fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toader Leahu in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horaţiu Stârcea saved Rahova Boys from getting behind. Rahova Boys's Horia Opincaru got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Horia Opincaru off the ground. In the 69th minute, Horia Opincaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Mihele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mădălin Sorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Brădean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute Yaroslav Aleksandrov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Stârcea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Gelu Druga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rahova Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Universitatea Cluj the free kick. Horaţiu Stârcea was a little too slow when Clifton Bongailas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-5. The FC Universitatea Cluj players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
