After 14 minutes, Manole Ciolac mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Birsesti CS and the Bolovani players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Birsesti CS's Manole Ciolac got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute Sergiu Flintașu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Basarab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Bolovani's Sergiu Flintașu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Basarab was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergiu Flintașu was the one to do the kick off. Bolovani's Ion Ghionaru got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leontin Râznicu hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Birsesti CS's Daniel Basarab got control of the ball when Ion Ghionaru tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Sergiu Flintașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manole Ciolac kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Dorin Gheban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Birsesti CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorin Gheban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Bolovani's Sergiu Flintașu in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bolovani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birsesti CS the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bolovani fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! The Birsesti CS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bolovani were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
