Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) BOTOSANI's Alexandru Barbăsură started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Cătălin Voicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Cosmin Văcăroiu made a precise shot to the right of Bogdan Piersic. Hotarasa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, BOTOSANI's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Voicu came free, but Nistor Târcă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hotarasa's Ionel Titulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Hotarasa getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dorin Brășneanu hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Hotarasa's goal looked a bit too open when Horaţiu Barbăroșie came free, but Bogdan Piersic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Cătălin Voicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th match minute, Hotarasa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Dobrotă to maneuver through the defense. Bogdan Piersic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandru Barbăsură in the 19th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionel Titulescu got free with Nistor Târcă in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bogdan Piersic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandru Barbăsură, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alexandru Barbăsură had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Răzvan Cubleșan took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Nistor Târcă to make any attempt to save it. Alexandru Barbăsură sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hotarasa's Ionel Titulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute, Ionel Titulescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hotarasa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Alexandru Barbăsură fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Piersic having to interfere. Bogdan Piersic stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cosmin Văcăroiu's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Nistor Târcă came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Hotarasa's Răzvan Cubleșan. But to his dismay, Răzvan Cubleșan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. If Alexandru Barbăsură had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hotarasa's Ionel Titulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th match minute, BOTOSANI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosmin Văcăroiu to maneuver through the defense. In the 82ndth minute of the game Ionel Titulescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BOTOSANI's Nistor Târcă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hotarasa's zone, Alexandru Barbăsură stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Piersic came out of the goal and Alexandru Barbăsură tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandru Barbăsură received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Bogdan Piersic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ionel Titulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nistor Târcă having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, Hotarasa's Cătălin Voicu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nistor Târcă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Hotarasa were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of BOTOSANI for a fine match.
