After a rather tough play, FC Gabi Mutu's Petre Apostol got a free kick in the 7th minute. A collision led to Hotarasa getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Nicodim Arvinte hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Edgar Şteţ left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Gabi Mutu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 24th minute, Edgar Şteţ made a precise shot to the right of Bogdan Piersic. Hotarasa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The supporters of Hotarasa booed when FC Gabi Mutu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petre Apostol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hotarasa's Bogdan Piersic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Hotarasa from getting a goal against them. After 36 minutes of play, FC Gabi Mutu's Gigel Surugiu made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bogdan Piersic was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as FC Gabi Mutu's Pompiliu Trifu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bogdan Piersic. That made the score 6-0 after 39 minutes of play. Bogdan Piersic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Şteţ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bogdan Piersic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigel Surugiu in the 45th minute. A collision led to FC Gabi Mutu getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Mihail Itoafă hit a great ball. Alin Băncilă, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionel Titulescu was the one to do the kick off. Bogdan Piersic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 68 minutes into the match, Hotarasa's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Şteţ came free, but Bogdan Piersic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Hotarasa defense, Gigel Surugiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bogdan Piersic. The Hotarasa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bogdan Piersic should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute Gigel Surugiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Piersic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, FC Gabi Mutu's Codruț Joldea got control of the ball when Ionel Titulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 80 played minutes Hotarasa got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Brășneanu. Ionel Titulescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Codruț Joldea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 84th minute, Gigel Surugiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Gabi Mutu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. Bogdan Piersic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Surugiu in the 90th minute of play. Ionel Titulescu struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Codruț Joldea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hotarasa. The supporters of Hotarasa booed when FC Gabi Mutu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihail Itoafă didn't get a good kick on the ball. There was no doubt that FC Gabi Mutu were the better team. FC Gabi Mutu's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
