Calistrat Mazăre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Iosub having to interfere. The supporters of Aiud AS booed when Cerbesti CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Cociubei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ovidiu Iosub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Teodor, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Aiud AS's Calistrat Mazăre got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Cerbesti CF's zone, Calistrat Mazăre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidiu Iosub came out of the goal and Calistrat Mazăre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Calistrat Mazăre recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ovidiu Iosub. Calistrat Mazăre showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Ovidiu Iosub took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogdan Măcriș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Cerbesti CF defense, Corneliu Cutieru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Iosub. The Cerbesti CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Iosub should have stopped the shot. 47 minutes into the match, Aiud AS's goal looked a bit too open when David Stejaru came free, but Aurel Herlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Teodor made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Aiud AS's Toader Boerescu got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 57th minute, Bogdan Măcriș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuel Teodor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ovidiu Iosub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Cerbesti CF got a freekick which was hit by David Mineață. When Aiud AS's Emanuel Teodor in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cerbesti CF's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 65 minutes, Corneliu Cutieru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aiud AS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corneliu Cutieru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Teodor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Iosub having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Aiud AS's Corneliu Cutieru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidiu Iosub made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Damian Barna charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damian Barna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute, David Mineață hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Calistrat Mazăre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Teodor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Ovidiu Iosub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bogdan Măcriș in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidiu Iosub saved Cerbesti CF from getting behind. In the 96th minute, Emanuel Teodor made a precise shot to the right of Ovidiu Iosub. Cerbesti CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Aiud AS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
