Remus Stegaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Lamru having to interfere. Bibesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nae Bădiță was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 82nd match minute, FCM Alexandria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iosif Basarabescu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Bibesti's zone, Nae Bădiță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Lamru came out of the goal and Nae Bădiță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Lamru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Remus Stegaru in the 87th minute. After 94th play minutes Octavian Ignătoiu shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Helmuth Khan and just under the crossbar into goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FCM Alexandria walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
