The referee ignored Timis AS's protests and gave Teodor Argăseală a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Costică Balint took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Octavian Opaina to make any attempt to save it. Helmuth Khan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Argăseală in the 12th minute of play. Nae Bădiță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Octavian Opaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Costică Balint dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Octavian Opaina, 2-0. Nae Bădiță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Octavian Opaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgar Ştiubei's late challenge caught a Timis AS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Timis AS got a freekick which was hit by Albert Cluceru. Vintilă Stăniloaie charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vintilă Stăniloaie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 31 minutes into the game, one of Timis AS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Matthias Ersman fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 36th minute, Matthias Ersman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 48 minutes, Remus Stegaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCM Alexandria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remus Stegaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Cayetano Calixto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Octavian Opaina. Timis AS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 61st minute, Costică Balint ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Octavian Opaina was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Matthias Ersman took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Opaina. Octavian Opaina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After 70 played minutes FCM Alexandria got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Ştiubei. In the 72nd minute Remus Stegaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Opaina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costică Balint received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Octavian Opaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nae Bădiță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodor Argăseală kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Mugur Beșliu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Matthias Ersman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nae Bădiță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 91st match minute, Timis AS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Cluceru to maneuver through the defense. Nae Bădiță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Octavian Opaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costică Balint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Opaina having to interfere.
