Stiinta Craiova's Silviu Ecobescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Stiinta Craiova from getting a goal against them. Sabin Zburliş scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silviu Ecobescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabin Zburliş in the 11th minute of play forced Stiinta Craiova's goalkeeper Silviu Ecobescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Mugurel Balaci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silviu Ecobescu was a little too slow when Sabin Zburliş got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 2-0. Silviu Ecobescu stood somewhat misplaced when Codrin Valerian came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 21 minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Sabin Zburliş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sabin Zburliş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Real Madrid's Sabin Zburliş in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stiinta Craiova's goalie prevented a goal. Sabin Zburliş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silviu Ecobescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codrin Valerian in the 32nd minute of the match. When Real Madrid's Sabin Zburliş in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stiinta Craiova's goalie prevented a goal. Codrin Valerians short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Silviu Ecobescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabin Zburliş in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silviu Ecobescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Codrin Valerian who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Silviu Ecobescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Codrin Valerian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Radu to make the kick off. 60 minutes into the game, Codrin Valerian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Silviu Ecobescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute, Codrin Valerian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Madrid fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 69th minute, Stiinta Craiova's Felix Albulescu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Felix Albulescu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Stiinta Craiova protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Felix Albulescu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Silviu Ecobescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silviu Ecobescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codrin Valerian in the 88th minute of play. After 91 played minutes Stiinta Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Lucaci. Sabin Zburliş scored 10-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silviu Ecobescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stiinta Craiova's Silviu Ecobescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codrin Valerian in the 100th minute of play. Real Madrid's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
