Rareș Cristea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionică Ştirbu, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 81st minute, Liviu Ecobescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ionică Ştirbu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 86 minutes, George Mihăilă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ficaresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Mihăilă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Ionică Ştirbu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Prejna FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionică Ştirbu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 97 minutes, Dan Zogreanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ficaresti and the Prejna FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
